In advance of that, our tax department will be running a specialist Business Breakfast Forum focusing on ways to mitigate your tax liabilities. Ray Honeywill, one of our tax specialists, will show you ways of maximising your tax allowances and considering ways in which you can reduce your annual tax bill. Among other things, it will include tips on dealing with pension contributions and bonuses.
28 November - Successful Benchmarking
How do you know how well your business is doing? How can you tell if each part of your business is operating as effectively as it could be? The solution is to use benchmarking. There are two main ways to benchmark. The first is to benchmark departments or company performance at a given point in time and repeat the benchmark at a future date. The second approach is to benchmark your departments or your business against best practice in other businesses or industries and against competitors to identify best practices that could be implemented within your own organisation. In this Business Breakfast Forum, Jean Piercy will share her wide experience of how to:
- identify suitable activities to benchmark
- find a suitable partner(s) against whom to benchmark
- gather the necessary information and develop an action plan
- measure the results
She will also give real examples of the benefits gained and the common pitfalls to avoid.
